Dear Farmers, OMAS has received reports of armyworm infestation affecting corn crops in several barangays across the southern region. These pest are known to cause rapid damage, especially in young corn plants.
- Inspect your fields daily, especially during early morning and late afternoon.
- Apply recommended bio-insecticides or approved chemical treatments only when necessary
- Avoid overwatering, as moist environments can increase pest activity
- If signs of infestation are found, report immediately to your local agricultural office or submit a pest alert via the OMAS platform.
